What are we Proud of?

Sadly, We currently are struggling to upload images so we will just have to tell our stories. But we will hopefully be able too soon! Also...I have written this strangely so what we have done the furthest time ago will be at the bottom.(sorry!)

The next biggest thing for the Early Earth Protectors was applying and being invited to festivals Shambala and Womad! This was definitely a huge step as at the time we were just a small group of quite young-young people, And we were not really well known at all. We made a plan to hold a stall for the BLUE campaign, which is a campaign about rewilding gardens to make them more inclusive for the wildlife. We held it as a workshop where we gave out free wildflower seeds and offered for young people and children to paint their own. Whilst that was happening we also held a Speakers corner outside, which again was definitely very different to how we will do it this year and how we did it last year as well. The speakers corner consisted of me and another young person stood on an upturned wooden crate speaking into a glitching megaphone about our beliefs and offering it to others to speak into as well. We were all nine or ten at this time!

2022

Relatively soon after we formed Early Earth Protectors, we met with the conservative councillor Michelle Donelan to ask her about her votes in the houses of parliament regarding climate change and sewage dumps. She gave excuses and explanations that didn't make sense really. We felt a bit patronized by her, we gave our view and she did not listen to us and carried on as she was. Talking to her and somehow realising how strangely unfair the system is made us think to carry on with our lives as activists for the environment. Now even though that was four years ago we still reflect on what amazing learning it was, in terms of where to divert our energy and attention. It was quite an early discovery as we were all either eight or nine at the time.
